Your not getting a share

As far as I am aware there is no law stopping MP's from owning shares in any companies therefore there is the possibility of insider dealing.
The Government negotiates a contract with a company and MP's in the know buy shares prior to the deal being announced therefore benefitting when the price increases.
They can also act as consultants and non-exec Directors for companies are often given employment when they stand down from office by the same companies who were awarded Government contracts.
One solution:
1) No share holding by MP's or immediate family of companies who hold Government contracts.
2) No outside employment especially in companies holding a Government contract.
3) No employmet when you leave office for a period of 5 years with a comapny that held a Government contract when you were an MP.
4) A Register of shares held by MP's and their immediate family.

share ownership
I think share details need to go into the "register of members interest" and then an MP or minister should withdraw from debate or discussion in select committee- at least I think that's how it works - not sure though
