MPs' expenses: Civil servant sacked for calling Hazel Blears a 'disgrace' in anonymous internet post - A civil servant has been sacked after she criticised Hazel Blears the former Cabinet minister over her behaviour in the MPs' expenses scandal. [Telegraph latest MPs expenses]
Well, let us who are self employed or in the private sector be grateful. I must say though that if this civil servant submitted her comments to an online blog with her email address visible and that email address was her work address - then she is silly to say the least - and reckless at worst. If she had used a personal email address she would probably not be in trouble. Not many online message boards that publish email addresses though - so hard to imagine how the employer found out?
Sacking does seem to be a heavy price to pay though for expressing an opinion - an opinion shared by many others.
