Hi everyone

I wrote to all who had registered here at the website to let you know that the campaign had closed. In summary, the reason was simple - the level of interest had waned as the furore over the MPs' Expenses Scandal had diminished.

With the by-election result in Norwich too - although the incumbent had stepped down - it showed the electorate was not inclined to opt for an independent or even one of the smaller established parties.

So, it is with regret that I post here to confirm that the campaign - as envisaged is closed. However, if anyone decides to run as an independent against a shamed incumbent who refuses to stand down, I am more than happy to help with a website etc. to assist your campaign. N.B. Jim Devine has been removed as he has been de-selected by Labour's NEC "Star Chamber". Tony McNulty replaces him in the "top five".

Even though the campaign is closed (unless people get in touch nearer to the election and press for its re-opening), if you want to stand against the incumbent as an independent of integrity then I will help with your campaign website. Just get in touch through the contact page

Should you stand for election? Well if:

• the shamed MP is looking like running for re-election
• the shamed MP is from the party you would naturally vote for (our "top five" targeted MPs are all Labour)
